Indie/Country/Electro group Blitzen Trapper make a stop at the Fab 40 Watt tonight to shower the townie side of downtown Athens with some, well, indie/country/electro tunes.
I got hooked on them after hearing the song "Wild Mountain Nation" which is a kind of twangy regional anthem about the delights of the wilderness.
Then I heard some of the stuff from their latest album, "Furr", and felt a strong need to go camping.
Recently, Blitzen Trapper have sold out the Bowery Ballroom in NY as well as the Music Hall of Williamsburg. They are playing SXSW, Coachella, and Sasquatch this year as well as a few shows with another of my favorites, Fleet Foxes.
