Show Recap: Romanenko @ Caledonia

Last night at Caledonia I had the pleasure of being introduced to Romanenko, a "Local band influenced by everything from folk standards and classic country to riot grrrl and 70s pop. Romanenko has been compared to everyone from Elliott Smith and Paul Simon to Liz Phair and Luscious Jackson" (Flagpole).

My friend was a little eager to see them play so we were happily surprised when we got to Caledonia early and they were unloading their stuff. Naturally, I had to seize the moment and lend a hand to Athens' next big thing.

Their myspace lists their influences to include Neko Case, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Breeders, Johnny Cash, and Fleetwood Mac.

Hit them up Feb. 16th and Mar. 10th @ Caledonia or Mar. 20th @ Flicker.

Roccckk!
